Add a Light

Before I got this far into my studio class I thought using more then one light and reflector tended to be overkill. Oh, how I was wrong. This is called the "add a light" assignment.

1.Fill Light. A light at 5.6 with a large soft box to give overall light on the subject.

2.Key light. The key light in this case was a beauty dish to the side of the subject that added shadow and depth to his face. Already there is a huge difference.

3.Background light. Having light behind the subject is crucial for depth. I put a red gel on the background light so you can see it better.

4.Hair light. Guess what this does?

The red gel was a great choice. I definitely think the background light really adds to the photo. Nice job.
